For this investigative report, I dove deep into the current situation at Pixar and the layoffs around the time of Inside Out 2’s release. What began as a story about animation workers who are currently struggling despite working on the highest-grossing movie of 2024 evolved into something much bigger — a hard-hitting investigation on crunch, suppression of LGBTQ themes, and concerns for the studio’s future.
-
After Marvel’s VFX workers announced their drive to unionize, marking a groundbreaking moment in the VFX industry, I sat down with five organizers who were candid in shedding light on some of their working conditions, including a claim of 18-hour days and seven-day weeks on WandaVision.
-
For the leading story in IGN’s themed AI Week, I spoke with several workers in the animation industry who shared fears of losing work to the technology, their legal and ethical concerns about their work being stolen by AI software, and what it could all mean for the industry at large.

When the 2023 Hollywood strikes hit, one of my primary goals was to use my near-decade of trade experience to contextualize the business aspects in ways that were accessible to IGN’s more consumer-facing audience. This story was a prime example of that, using my industry knowledge and contacts to inform readers on how the strikes would affect their favorite shows and movies.

As part of my extensive coverage of Stranger Things Season 4, I had the honor of writing IGN’s first-ever digital cover, featuring wide-ranging interviews with the Duffer brothers, Shawn Levy, Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, and David Harbour. It also has one of the first interviews with Joseph Quinn before he truly broke out in Hollywood.
-
To lead IGN FanFest 2024, I wrote a massive digital cover on Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. This was the culmination of a 2022 set visit, interviews with every major cast member, and multiple interviews with showrunner Albert Kim.
-
As part of my goal to contextualize the business of Hollywood for IGN’s audience, I also did regular deep dives into the box office, a subject that personally fascinates me. As in the case in this analysis into Joker: Folie à Deux’s underwhelming opening weekend, I frequently consulted with industry experts to get original insights, as opposed to leaning on aggregation.
-
As IGN’s Entertainment Reviews Editor, I personally reviewed some of the biggest releases, including 2022’s The Batman. The video version is one of IGN’s highest-viewed movie reviews ever, drawing more than 1.3 million viewers (and yes, I stand by the 10!)
-
As a longtime Dragon Age fan, I got to work with News Director Kat Bailey on a huge IGN First for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. We traveled to BioWare’s Edmonton office to be among the first to play hours of the game, in addition to conducting exclusive interviews with the developers.
-
As I worked to expand Variety’s video game coverage, I wrote an enterprise piece for the magazine covering the business side of the 2020 Xbox Series/PlayStation 5 launches. While there aren’t many video game-related stories in Variety’s print publication, this one dove deep into what the then-incoming console cycle would mean for Microsoft and Sony.

At IGN, I co-hosted the Cinefix Top 100 — Cinefix’s most ambitious movie list ever — with fellow cinephiles Clint Gage and Michael Calabro. In this episode, we discussed (spoiler!) my favorite movie of all time: Terminator 2.
-
After the release of Prime Video’s Fallout, I got to sit down for a long, spoiler-filled interview with executive producer Jonathan Nolan and Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard. It gave me the opportunity to dig into the questions that fans really wanted answers for (something the commenters very much appreciated!)
-
As the resident D&D nerd, I got to interview Michelle Rodriguez, Chris Pine, and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein about Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves as part of IGN FanFest. Also, I got Rodriguez to do a massive barbarian scream on camera, so that was fun.
-
I was the sole host for IGN’s exclusive studio at Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, where I got rare interviews with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Kathleen Kennedy, in addition to the stars of every current Star Wars TV show.
-
Have I mentioned that I’m a Dungeons & Dragons expert? In case there was any doubt, here is an extremely fun project where I got to play D&D with my colleagues (for work!)
-
In continuation of my wide-ranging coverage of Stranger Things Season 4, I got the first spoiler-y interview with Jamie Campbell Bower about his role as Vecna. This was extremely successful, garnering more than 1.3 million views.
-
One of my earliest on-camera opportunities at IGN was also one of my biggest — being among the first to interview the entire cast (in two parts) of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
-
Following The Last of Us’ Season 1 premiere, I scripted and VO’d this video essay about how the HBO series managed to expand upon the famous opening of the video game.
-
I frequently got to co-host some of IGN’s biggest events and livestreams, including all three days of our extremely fun FanFest 2023.
-
For Variety, I solely produced this exclusive look into Joe Manganiello’s star-studded Dungeons & Dragons campaign, which includes Vince Vaughn, Tom Morello, D.B Weiss, The Big Show, and many more. This remains one of Variety’s best-performing originally produced videos ever, currently standing at a whopping 6.2 million views.
